I never knew that there was that many students, which had to be from 100-150, that had the same views on the school lunches as I do.The Hype group actually appealed to most of the students by music, dancing, and to actually have our voices being heard was amazing.Next year when they have another summit, really hope that PUFFA would select me to go again..."

"...Last October, a group of around thirty adults and two students (myself included) traveled to two farms in southern New Jersey. We were told that these were two farms among the many that would provide fresh produce to our school cafeterias. At the first farm we visited, we witnesses the professing of vegetables from the stalk to the store. We ate fresh ears of corn and we learned that 30% of all fruits and vegetables get throw out because or bruises, scratches, or marks. Some even just because they're shaped weird and were what the farmer call "unattractive" to the customer. At the second farm which was much smaller, we went on a hay ride around the farm and saw strawberries and cabbage. We ate lunch there while we learned quality information about farming and the produce that would go to our schools. Overall the trip was informational, new and exciting..."
